Rose McGowan

 

Rosa Arianna "Rose", born on 5 September 1973 is an American actress. Her film debut was a brief role in the comedy Encino Man (1992), McGowan achieved wider recognition for her performance in the dark comedy The Doom Generation (1995) which earned her an Independent Spirit Award nomination for Best Debut Performance. McGowan's debut came in the horror movie Scream in the year 1996. In the following years, she was the star of Jawbreaker (1999), Devil in the Flesh (1998) and Going All the Way (1997). McGowan's role as Paige Matthews on the WB supernatural drama Charmed (2001-2006) was her most well-known character. Quentin Tarantino directed her double-feature film Grindhouse (2006) that in which she won the Saturn Award for Best Actress as well as the Scream Award to Best Scream Queen. McGowan was in the action thriller series Chosen (2014), and released her debut studio album, Planet 9, in 2018, which was followed by a new album in 2020. In 2017 Time honored McGowan as one of the Silence Breakers, the magazine's Person of the Year for her stance on sexual assault and harassment, specifically in regard to the Harvey Weinstein sexual abuse cases as well as the Me Too movement. In the year 2018, she released Brave, a memoir, and was a part of Citizen Rose, a four-part documentary series.
